The New TED Ereğli College Building Serves Education

Yüksel has supported education ever since 1960 and is now providing another service in this field. Construction of the new building for the TED Ereğli College elementary school was completed with significant contributions from the Yüksel, Aysel, Ersel, Sasel and Yüksel Ceramic and Orsel companies under the leadership of Yüksel Holding Chairman of the Board Mehmet Sert and the opening ceremony was conducted on 20 September 2004. The opening ceremony was attended by State Protocol, Yüksel Officers, administrators from the Turkish Education Association and the residents of Ereğli, where the Ereğli district governor presented a plaque to Mehmet Sert and the School Administration gave a Plaque of Appreciation to everyone who participated in the construction of this modern educational institute. The 350-student school with 24 classrooms was built in just one year on a 30,000-square-meter parcel donated by the Emine Ottekin and her heirs on 30 August 2003 at a cost of approximately 2 trillion TL. The Yüksel Group also provides a full educational scholarship for ten students.
